Japan April 2009


In case you have never seen a Japanese toilet (Eastern toilet, they call them), here it is. You grab the pole you see on the left just above the toilet paper with your left hand, pull your pants out in front of you with your right hand as far as you can and squat. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was. However, I only had to do it once the whole time I was there. It even flushes like our toilets. Everywhere we went, including the parks, had at least one fancy toilet. See next picture.

    There are alot of these in Italy. We call them "squatters." I'm not fond of them at all.
